FOREWORD
This website is intended to be a repository and a sanctuary for our family stories. A saying above the door of the University of Colorado Norlin Library says, “Who knows only his own generation remains always a child.” According to an article written by Bruce Feiler and printed in the New York Times (May 15, 2013), “The single most important thing you can do for your family is to develop a strong family narrative.” He says, “Children who have the most self-confidence have . . . a strong intergenerational self. They know they belong to something bigger than themselves. They are more resilient and cope with stress better.” We believe that as we come to understand where we come from we will better understand the path that we ourselves are on.
We hope you enjoy these stories.
